Barnyard Dance Collection - Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Repurposed Vintage Tin Earrings & Necklace
This fun new collection is entirely created from a vintage Pennsylvania Dutch Hex symbol tin. From the interwebs: "When early Swedish and German Dutch settlers first came to Pennsylvania in the 17th century, they brought with them a rich cultural tradition of creating Hex Signs to commemorate special life events. Dutch Hex Signs can be seen painted on barns, sheds, and displayed across many homes in the northeast and the southern United States."
Each piece in this collection comes from the lid of the tin used in my other Pennsylvania Dutch collection, found here: http://bit.ly/2UcPztc
The scene is a corny one - 3 folks square dancing with a chicken.
Paired with brass components, rivets, chain, and earhooks.
PLEASE NOTE: Because these pieces are made from vintage tins, the metal surface may be uneven and/or have imperfections, tiny dings or scratches. To me, this is part of the piece's history. Please look carefully at the photos before purchasing so you know what imperfections exist, & so you are happy with your purchase!
