Cultured Monarch Opal Coffin Ring Size 7.25
Glittering bright blue cultured opal is a man made opal, and is in a family of the most amazing glittering, shimmering, iridescent stones that come in a rainbow of colors. The trick is finding the color you want, because not many stone cutters are using this stone as of yet. It takes over a year to form in the lab. Rest assured, in a year or so, there will be much more available, and jewelers like myself won't have to enter a bidding war just to snag a piece, especially one in this blue hue.
This talon shaped specimen is 1 1/2" long and 3/8" wide. It is set in hand stamped sterling silver with a scalloped bezel. Total dimensions are 1 3/4" x 5/8". Set on a size 7.25 thick gauge ring band, and stamped with a dot design. The ring is oxidized in liver of sulphur, and polished to bring out highlights.
