The St. Patrick's Collection - Green Glass Slag Shamrock Pendant with Moonstone in Sterling Silver

This soft green "stone" is actually glass slag, and a by-product of of the smelting process. Set in a smooth sterling  silver bezel, surrounded by sterling adornments that have been stamped and sawed out by hand. A 6mm cultured black opal adorns the bottom of the pendant, and a hand sawed clover is at the top. Another clover is in the backside, above the Verdilune hallmark stamp. All pieces have been soldered to a backing of 22 gauge sterling silver sheet. The entire piece is oxidized with liver of sulphur & tumbled with a special medium for 12 hours to bring a soft matte finish to the metals, and also accentuate the highlights and bring dimension to the piece.
