Green Man Pendant with Gem Chrysoprase & Aura Opal in Sterling Silver
This highly detailed "Green Man" face (see reference below) has been pressed from a large solid ball of sterling silver. It has some nice weight to it! It is soldered to 21 gauge sterling sheet. Beneath it is a deep green gem chrysoprase set in a smooth bezel and a black cultured Aura opal with massive rainbow flash! Decorative doodads that have been hand pressed, hand stamped and hand cut are soldered around the set stones. A tiny but solid cast sterling silver succulent blossom completes the design, and reminds you that Spring is near! Hung from an 18" bright sterling silver rolo chain with lobster clasp closure. The entire piece is oxidized with liver of sulphur & polished to accentuate the highlights and bring dimension to the piece. If you would like the chain to be oxidized, feel free to email me after ordering and I will be happy to do that.
Pendant measures 65mm long, and 22mm wide.
"The Green Man is believed to symbolise the cycle of life, death and re-birth. The symbol of Godhood within the male and its relationship with the transcendent life force our Goddess, the female expression of divinity. He is a Pagan symbol who heralds Spring after a long winter and the renewal of lush vegetation."
