Modern Repurposed Vintage Tea Tin Pendant
I adore vintage English tea tins, and have collected many over the years - intending to repurpose them in to jewelry. It's been difficult to take the tin shears to them, but I finally did it!
Each tin I use has been well loved and has the minor scratches and blemishes that come with age. The finish on these tin pieces is not meant to be perfect, but exudes character and history. For these pendants in particular, I distressed the surface of the tin even more with steel wool.
There are two pendants available, and both differ in shape slightly but are generally identical. Pendant #1 measures 2 1/4" x 2 1/4", and pendant #2 measures 2 1/4" wide and 2 1/8" tall. This pendant has been created from a black tin with gold accents and peach/orange flowers. Brushed brass crescent moons and brass eyelets were added for a modern feel. 19" Brass rolo chain with a lobster clasp closure.
