Provencąl Wino Pendant - Upcycled China in Sterling Silver

This pendant is made from a section of broken china plate by stone cutter Sierra Stone Studios. She upcycles broken pottery and china by creating cabochons from the broken pieces. Jewelers like myself buy them to create unique, fun jewelry that promotes reusing materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

The section of plate depicts a European winery with this tiny French man drinking his wine right from the jug. I fell in love immediately. The setting has been completely hand-fabricated by me in sterling silver. Dangling beneath is a pierced brass wine bottle backed with sterling silver. 18" oxidized sterling silver cable chain with lobster clasp closure. The entire piece is oxidized with liver of sulphur and buffed and polished to bring out the highlights of the metal.
