Translucent Red Rosarita Ring in Sterling Silver Size 7

This is a deep red, semi-translucent rosarita specimen set in sterling silver. A cast sterling silver flourish is soldered above it, and a tiny silver ball below. The back plate is constructed with recycled sterling silver sheet. The sterling silver double band that has been textured and sits at a size 7 on the mandrel.

What is Rosarita?

Rosarita is a by-product of gold smelting. Smelting gold is the process of extracting gold from an ore it is combined with. Essentially, when an ore that is gold-bearing gets heated to high temperatures, gold sinks down to the bottom and the non-metals solidify into boulders of red and orange. Red being Rosarita.
