Salvaged Copper Heart Earrings
These stylized, asymetrical hearts were created by running recycled copper sheet thru a rolling mill and a floral pattern plate. The sheet is then placed in a hydraulic press with a heart "pancake die," which cuts out the heart shapes. Tons of sanding & filing later, you've got your heart shapes, ready to go.
3 different designs - 2 have been torch enameled with transluscent green and blue and one, I left plain but oxididized.
Stainless steel earwires. 2 1/2" long.
Fun fact: the copper used in these designs was donated by a friend of a friend after having her roof finished. The workers were going to take it, but she knew there would be a copper artist somewhere that could use it to create something beautiful!
