Vintage Lids Celestial Wall Hangings
The lids to many of the vintage canisters are so beautiful, don't you think? They would look amazing all grouped together on a wall. But who has that much wall space?
I decided to make each one into a wall hanging, by adding moon phases. Each brass circle has been cut out using a hydraulic press, and made into crescents. I then hammer each piece all over to give it texture, and sand each by hand. Certain designs have eyes made from scrap brass, and some have vaious manufactured brass elements. Each component has been attached to the next with large brass chain links.
Some of the hangings have picture hangers adhered to the back to hang easily from a nail in the wall. Some have brass links that are attached to a small drilled hole at the top of the tin. The links can hang from the nail in the wall.
